3M™ Softback Sanding Sponge is an abrasive sanding sponge for had to reach places in automotive body repair. It can be used on cars, trucks, and vans such as around headlight openings, door handles, door jambs, and other locations. The soft, flexible foam backing conforms to virtually any profile or shape on a vehicle. These sponges are coated with long-lasting aluminium oxide abrasive. Our sponge can be used wet or dry and helps to eliminate finger marks. Use 3M™ Softback Sanding Sponge to reach tricky areas and eliminate finger marks. Our sponge helps to get into hard to reach places like headlight openings, around door handles and door apertures. This full thickness medium sponge is perfect for preparing old bottom paint for a new coat. It’s ideal for dry or wet sanding of wood, paint, metal, plastic and drywall. When used wet, it keeps the air clear of dust. For sanding challenging areas or unique profiles, the 3M™ Softback Sanding Sponge is designed to conform to various shapes and reach difficult spots. The sponge’s soft foam backing is more flexible than traditional paper-backed sandpaper, with a relatively thin foam layer to enable access to tight locations. These sponges are ideal for hand-sanding where precision and detail are required, beyond what machine-sanding can achieve.
